Here are some things you can try if you’re having trouble signing in to a Windows 11 device, including problems signing in after upgrading to Windows I had a very similar issue, I fixed it by signing in with a local account (Settings/Accounts/Your Account), downloading an app off the store, and signing back.

I get a number of different error codes when I do click on “Fix the problem” I’ve had this problem for most of and have posted in this forum unsuccessfully about it.

My install is a clean install after an upgrade of Windows 10 Pro. My computer is joined to my AD domain, I have three other computers all configured the same and have the error messages showing on them aswell. I have tried logging into the xbox app on Windows 10 and also adding my Microsoft account to my profile but both of these also fail even with a different Microsoft account.

However I figured that I was able to sign-in using different email accounts but not with the one linked to my account. I upgraded a win 7 ultimate machine to win 10 pro and set it up with a local account. I almost immediately discovered that I could access nothing that requires a Microsoft account. I cannot convert my computer from a local to a Microsoft account [not that I particularly want to. My experience of trying to switch to a Microsoft account instead of a local account is that you go. Note: Any settings or new files created within that temporary profile will be removed after you sign out, so it is important to try to resolve this issue, either by restarting your PC or with the following steps.

Here are some things to try to get signed back in to your Windows profile:. Any files you have created or changed while in the temporary profile will be lost when you sign out. Restart your device in safe mode and sign in with your original profile. Check to see if your settings and files are restored.

Restart your device in normal mode and sign in again with your original profile. You might need to restart your device more than once.

If multiple restarts don’t help, try temporarily disabling your antivirus software or any other app that might scan your device during sign-in. Note: Some antivirus products may have additional components which affect the system and may only be disabled after complete removal and a system reboot. All I had to do was find a windows powershell command to reinstall the Microsoft store and everything works perfectly fine again! Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

I think this happens once a week; I get the notification “We need to fix your Microsoft account.

After entering a PIN which even though I set it up I don’t use it for logging in I get the message “All accounts are working correctly. Unlike TC, I can trace the start of my issue to when I installed the new build update, build I do not believe this is a timing issue as TC suggests, since the most recent instance I got of this issue was a few hours ago, and my laptop has been on since this morning.

This is more of a slight annoyance to me, and I can live with doing this once a week, but I would appreciate it if you would address this issue as expediently as you can.

Also, my file associations got reset I’m still working on finding what’s been damaged, and fixing them. I remember a few months back a windows update reset all my windows explorer folder customisations.

When an operating system loses it’s ability to retain user preferences, that’s an extreme design flaw. I will be ignoring the 6 “An App default got reset” errors everytime windows starts now – along with any other errors that future windows updates will cause – I have lost all faith in windows now.
